KITES,
Atlanta, GA

Kids Interested in Technology, Engineering and Science (KITES) Inc, is an educational non-profit organization whose primary mission is to seek out underrepresented kids and expose them to the wonders and fascination of the sciences in order to ignite in them a life-long love of science, and by doing that, uncover the brilliance and potential that lies in every child.

"Project BioEYES" was the very first program presented by KITES after its founding in 2011 by Marlene Reynolds. Since then, KITES has presented BioEYES to Scott Elementary, a public school in Atlanta, and to the A.W. “Tony” Matthews Boys and Girls Club in Mableton, Georgia. KITES also helped to launch the program at the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy in Atlanta in partnership with teacher Laura Peña Telfer.

The goal of KITES is to reach more students and teachers by collaborating with local universities to bring Project BioEYES to K-12 grade schools in the Atlanta area.
