The latest branch of BioEYES started in 2022 at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. BioEYES NYC is hosted by the Black Family Stem Cell Institute and the Department of Cell, Developmental and Regenerative Biology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The BioEYES NYC program serves K-12 students in NYC, focusing on the East Harlem area. Our program will bring the transformative BioEYES curriculum to local schools.
Mount Sinai is an integrated health care system providing exceptional medical care to the New York City area. Encompassing the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and eight hospital campuses, Mount Sinai is renowned for its research, patient care, and education. The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is the medical school for the Mount Sinai health system. Since its opening in 1968, it has been an international leader in medical and scientific training and biomedical research.
BioEYES is supported by the Black Family Stem Cell Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Research at the Black Family Stem Cell Institute uses the potential of embryonic and adult stem cells to advance the field of stem cell biology. Through research on pluripotent and adult stem cells, research at the Black Family Stem Cell Institute seeks to harness stem cells to repair tissues, model diseases, and develop therapies.
BioEYES is hosted by the Department of Cell, Developmental and Regenerative Biology. Research in the Department of Cell, Developmental and Regenerative Biology studies biological mechanisms focusing on development signaling pathways, cell death, organogenesis, fertilization, stem cells, and cancer models.
Mount Sinai’s BioEYES programs offers the BioEYES programs at no cost for New York City public and charter schools. Private schools in the New York City area can also sign-up to receive BioEYES for a set program fee.
The BioEYES team at Mount Sinai is hosted by Dr. Florence Marlow in the Department of Cell, Developmental and Regenerative Biology. It is run by Auset Taylor, the Program Manager and Outreach Educator for BioEYES NYC.
